The Sherrard/Winola Academic Hall of Fame
The Sherrard Academic Foundation created The Sherrard/Winola Academic Hall of Fame in 2008 to celebrate and honor the outstanding lifetime achievements of Sherrard or Winola alumni and staff. Hall of Fame inductees are selected based on their outstanding achievements in their field and/or significant contributions to the community. Since its inception in 2008, 46 graduates and staff members have been recognized for their contributions to their professions and communities by induction into the Sherrard/Winola Academic Hall of Fame.

The Annual Hall of Fame Banquet
The Sherrard Academic Foundation hosted its 10th Annual Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremony on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the Quad City Botanical Center. This annual event acknowledges and highlights the success stories of distinguished alumni from both the Sherrard School District and the former Winola School District. Those honored this year are:
Michael Hutchins, Sherrard High School Class of 1961; Dr. Larry Samuels, Winola High School Class of 1951; Diane Allen Baines, Winola High School Class of 1977; Larry Roberts, Winola High School Class of 1985; Dr. Michael Bell, Sherrard High School Class of 2000.
This evening also included a silent auction with proceeds benefiting the programs sponsored by the Foundation. Each year, the Sherrard Academic Foundation provides scholarships and classroom grants to students and teachers in the Sherrard Unit #200 School District. The Foundation was pleased to announce at this event that they have awarded 31 classroom grants, totaling $10,600, for the current school year. These grants will impact numerous classrooms and hundreds of students. Some of the items that are being provided to enhance learning include desk globes, U. S. and world wall maps, a digital incubator, ukuleles, various math and science related activities, and many books.
